Area of Refuge

I'm Princess Leah to those who know me well, but otherwise just Leah. Feel free to address me by either. :) 18. Currently living in California. I absolutely love Sci Fi and I watch more TV than I really have time for. I watch Once Upon a Time ( shout out to my fellow Evil Regals! ;) ), Sanctuary, and Stargate mostly. Helen Magnus and Samantha Carter are my heroes. <3 You'll also likely see a lot of fangirling over: Amanda Tapping, Lana Parrilla, and the cast/crew members of shows they're involved in. You have been warned. BRACE FOR SHENANIGANS.

One last picture from behind. :)

I know the wolf is largely covered by the cloak and though I put a lot of detail in the fur underneath, I’m okay with it because the cloak is part of what’s helping it to stand. I lost count of how many times the legs broke in the last 10 minutes. I just want this thing fired so I can stop stressing about it breaking again!!

Hood is on!

Part of the cloak is done!

For a handle of sorts I added a basket and apple. :) My teacher was watching me add them and she was amused at how I always add these delicate little details calling me “The Queen of Small Details”. XD

This is one of the largest pieces I’ve made all year! I’m excited to see how it turns out all finished glazed and everything! :)

Who’s afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?

Wolf is on! I just need to add the cloak and ears! :D

Coming up on the final stretch on my Red Riding Hood project!

Finally finished putting the texture on the tree!!

I have the jar part mostly complete. I need to finish up the texture and detail on the tree trunk. Then, I’ll add what will be snow when it’s glazed. Lastly, I’ll add the wolf wearing Red’s cloak. I’ve got my work cut out for me! :D

Ready to work

This is the sketch I made prior to starting the project.

I shall post pictures as I work. :)

We were informed today that it should be made and dry enough for the bisque fire this Friday. I’m about to be bringing a hell of a lot of clay home in the next few days!

I’m stoked about this project though and my teacher loved my sketch and she’s eager to see how it turns out!

Considering I kicked out that lemur in about 7 hours yesterday, I’m confident I can get this done at home no problem. :D
